Summer 2025
registration is now open!
Located in the West End of Toronto, primarily serving communities from Corso Italia to Roncesvalles and Junction Triangle to Etobicoke, Camp Gedi is a unique three week experience. Our program is designed for children ages 5-12 and centres the values of Radical Empathy, Intergenerational Community, Compassionate Inquiry, Experiential Learning, and Collaborative Partnership.
Camp Gedi cultivates curiosity and fosters collective responsibility, ensuring that each camper’s journey is not just transformative but also empowering. We aim to instill a lifelong commitment to learning and a strong sense of social justice, equipping them to make a positive impact on the world around them.
Our values are embedded into everything we do.
Intergenerational Community
Explore the richness of intergenerational learning at our camp! While our main emphasis is on providing an enriching experience for children, we highly appreciate the exchange of wisdom and knowledge among teachers, parents, and campers. Embrace the opportunity to learn alongside your child during our immersive Family Festival Weekend, where you can discover new ideas, engage in exciting activities, and explore growth opportunities together. Join us in fostering a community of shared learning and lasting memories!
Radical Empathy
Through SEL activities, a facilitated daily “Crew” exploring personal topics, and self-reflection exercises, campers will develop a better understanding of themselves and others. This work is at the core of our camp ethos.
Experiential Learning
Hands-on activities and immersive adventures inspire creativity and problem-solving, making each day a gateway to new discoveries. Camp Gedi is not only about windows and mirrors, it’s also about doors. It’s about walking into worlds you never knew existed.
Collaborative Partnership
Working in harmony is an often underestimated life skill. Campers learn teamwork, respect, and life skills for social and academic success.
Compassionate Enquiry
Encouraging curiosity, we inspire personal growth through open-hearted exploration. All Camp Gedi teachers and assistant teachers are trained in coaching skills to ensure a feeling of partnership and understanding at every level.
We can’t wait to meet you
MEET ASHLEY
Ashley Baylen is one of the co-founders of Camp Gedi and is the Camp Director. She is a serial entrepreneur and community organizer, starting at age eight and continuing to present day. After graduating from film school, Ashley founded a social media strategy company where she quickly established a reputation for cultivating local and global partnerships prior to the days of influencer marketing. Entering motherhood in 2017 inspired Ashley’s career transition to educate, make positive change, and increase justice for both kids and caregivers. At the beginning of COVID, recognizing the devastating loss of connection and community, Ashley co-founded ByUs Box: educational Toolkits to guide parents in raising anti-racist and inclusive kids. Ashley’s work with ByUs Box led to her joining Lovevery as their Senior Advisor to E&I. Driven by research in anti-bias education, social emotional learning and early childhood development, Ashley develops educational products and courses through an equity lens.
MEET QUINN
Quinn Simpson is one of the co-founders of Camp Gedi and heads up Staff Development. Over the last decade she has been building Graydin, an organisation working to revolutionize the ways we support, empower and connect with our next generations so they can thrive at school and at home. Together with more than 300 schools and Universities world-wide, Graydin has been at the forefront of the coaching movement in education since 2011. Quinn has 15 years of experience in coaching, teacher-training and learning content creation for teachers, students and caregivers. She is a certified Co-Active Coach and NLP Coach Practitioner, and at the age of 24, she co-founded a small charity called Akosia that operated for 10 years using coaching as a facilitation technique in filmmaking projects for underprivileged children and women.
